Genetics Australia
has announced the appointment of new director Trevor Henry
Genetics Australia Co-operative, the largest dairy cattle genetics and herd improvement
organisation in Australia, has announced the appointment of a new Director to
the Board to replace Mr. Wim Kampschoer, who has resigned for personal reasons.
Chairman Colin Gardner named the new director as Trevor Henry from the Maffra region in Victoria.
Mr Gardner said “Trevor brings excellent skills and capabilities to the Genetics Australia Board,
and has been Chairman of the Macalister Dairy Demonstration Farm for the last
four years and on the Board for the last 12 years. Trevor runs a successful
550-head dairy herd which also ranks as the top ABV herd (greater than 500 cows)
in Australia, an outstanding achievement. It would be fair to say that we are
absolutely delighted that he has agreed to join our Board at this time”.
“Genetics Australia Cooperative is first and foremost the largest livestock genetics company in
Australia; we need high quality people like Trevor, with his deep background in
breeding and genetics, to be committed to our farmer-owned cooperative.
I have no doubt that he will make a
significant contribution to continued strong genetic progress in the Australian
dairy industry, which is crucial to ongoing productivity gains”.
“We are very sorry to see the departure of Wim Kampschoer after just three and a half years on
the Board. He has made a good contribution to our organisation on behalf of
Australian dairy farmers, and he should be congratulated for his efforts. We
wish him all the very best in the future”, Colin said.
